Experience

I have been offering therapy in private practice for 20 years, with prior work experience in pre-school, high school, and agency settings. It has been a privilege to walk with many people engaging in challenging life circumstances, facing hard questions, and healing from the effects of trauma and early childhood attachment wounding.

I also bring a range of personal life experience that, together with my training, have shaped me and inform my questions in my work. Growing up in Latin America, in a missionary family, and immigrating to Canada as a young adult made for a lived experience of living between cultures, in the heart of ministry. Raising a son as a single parent has created a lived reality of facing the challenges of life. The stories that fill those lived realities, and how they shaped me, are a personal frame in which to understand how we face personal woundings and pain, along with the gifts and joy of living life.

My experience of walking with others in my work, together with my own reflections on life and living out faith in the midst of the challenges, shape the questions I bring to the table as a therapist.
